“Dark Matter” is a science fiction television series that premiered on June 12, 2015. It was created by Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie, based on their comic book of the same name. The show aired on the Syfy channel and ran for three seasons, concluding on August 25, 2017.
The story revolves around a group of six individuals who wake up on a spaceship with no memory of who they are or how they got there. Each member of the crew is assigned a number, One through Six, based on the order in which they woke up. The central mystery of the series involves the characters’ efforts to uncover their identities, as well as the circumstances that led to their memory loss.
As the crew explores the galaxy, they become entangled in various conflicts and political intrigues. The show combines elements of space opera, mystery, and drama, and it often explores themes of morality, identity, and the consequences of one’s actions. The character dynamics and evolving relationships among the crew members play a significant role in the narrative.
“Dark Matter” received positive reviews for its engaging plot, well-developed characters, and the blend of science fiction and character-driven storytelling. However, it faced challenges in terms of ratings and was ultimately canceled after its third season, leaving some unresolved plotlines.
If you’re a fan of science fiction with a mix of mystery and character development, “Dark Matter” might be worth checking out. Keep in mind that, as of my last knowledge update in January 2022, there haven’t been any announcements regarding the revival or continuation of the series.
