“Master of the House” is a Danish drama series that follows the life of a strict and controlling father, Viktor, whose harsh discipline causes tension within his household. He runs his family with an iron fist, expecting obedience and hard work from his wife and children, creating a suffocating environment at home.
His demanding nature, however, takes a toll on his wife, Ida, who becomes increasingly exhausted and ill due to the constant pressure.
When Ida reaches her breaking point, the family’s nanny, who has been a part of the household for years, steps in to challenge Viktor’s authority. She teaches him valuable lessons about kindness, patience, and the need to respect those he loves.
As Viktor faces the consequences of his actions, he gradually learns to appreciate his family and the importance of compassion, bringing about a transformation in his relationships and the atmosphere at home. The series showcases the dynamic shift from oppression to understanding within the family structure.
