The Crimson Rivers (French: Les Rivières pourpres) is a French-Belgian-German criminal thriller television series produced by Jean-Christophe Grangé. It is based on Grangé’s 1997 novel Blood Red Rivers and its film adaptation from 2000.
It has been shown on RTS 1 in Romandy from September 6, 2018, on RTS 2 in Belgium and France since November 26, 2018, and on ZDF in Germany since November 5, 2018.
Following the events in Guernon, Commissioner Pierre Niemans (Olivier Marchal) is appointed Director of the Central Office Against Blood Crimes (OCCS). He pairs up with Camille Delaunay, a previous and top pupil (Erika Sainte). The commissioner regards her as his child. They will work together to solve the most complex investigations.
