Blanca – Season 1 – Summary

Blanca is a blind profiler who returns to her hometown of Genoa, Italy, to work as an intern police consultant. She is assisted by her guide dog, Linneo, and by her best friend, Stella. Blanca quickly proves her worth to the police department, using her heightened non-visual senses to solve complex cases.

Season 1 follows Blanca as she assists with a variety of investigations, including:

The murder of a young woman who is found strangled in her apartment.
The disappearance of a teenage girl who is suspected of having been abducted.
A series of arson attacks that is targeting local businesses.
The murder of a prominent businessman who is found shot to death in his office.

While investigating these cases, Blanca also comes to terms with her own past. She had become blind at the age of 12 after witnessing a fire in which her older sister died. Blanca had testified that her sister’s boyfriend, Sebastiano, had run off just before the fire, but he was never convicted of any crime.

In the season finale, Blanca finally confronts Sebastiano about her sister’s death. He confesses to starting the fire, but he claims that it was an accident. Blanca is devastated by his confession, but she is also relieved to finally have the truth.
